Permanent site specific commission for Danderyds Hospital, ward 65
The site specific commission The postcard is a piece about the power in a handwritten note from a loved one. The significance of having someone
The piece describes a fictitious person who has received a postcard from his/her loved one. The postcard is placed on two separate walls in the hospital ward, one with the image visible and the other with the text. The text on the postcard describes a scenic place and how the author is preparing for the future reunion of the two. The text suggests a time span before the reunion, the temperature in the lake will have to be warm enough to swim. The period of time rouses the receivers expectations, which is manifested in the dreamy, panoramic scenery over the central glass wall in the ward.
Äntligen har våren kommit. När solen tittar fram bakom berget på morgnen tar jag med mig kaffet ut på trappen. Då behövs ingen tidning, ingen radio. Dofterna, fågelsången och utsikten… Det är vidunderligt.
Din T. "
